Simon is Simon Mayeski of San Diego, California. He has been employed trying to make computers behave in various ways since 1985. Prior to that he had a glorious, confusing and altogether unforgettable career in the San Francisco restaurant industry.

He often thinks progressive thoughts. AND as he studies the political insanity he really thinks it is still possible to work for folks to work together with others who do not TOTALLY agree with them in order to solve a problem.  BUT each person trying to reach agreement must be ready to actually negotiate, to bargain, to give as well as get. It doesn’t seem many want to do that right now.

This is not smart, not with the kind of serious messes into which we have gotten ourselves.

And if you think life is as simple as it used to be, you stopped paying attention. Just when was that?
